LOOK: Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez and son Raymund Romualdez on Friday evening led the culmination activity of the Youth Festival 2019 ‘Pasko para han Kabataan ha Pabahay’ held at St. Francis Gym in St. Francis Village, Brgy. Suhi, Tacloban City. Organized by the City Government in cooperation with the I Love Tacloban Youth Organization, the Tacloban City Youth Affairs Office and City Sports office, the sports event was participated by young people coming from different resettlement sites in Tacloban North.

Participants competed in 8 events, which included ball games, “Laro ng Lahi” and a hip hop dance competition. It also highlighted a ‘Miss Youth Festival Search’, which was won by Gwendolyn Japson of Villa Diana. Japson who also got the Best in Production and Sportswear Awards. Japson received a trophy and a cash prize of Php 1,500.

Hailed as the champion in the ‘Saragyaw 2019’ contest was Ridgeview Village, while Villa Diana and GMA Kapuso Village placed 1st and 2nd Runners Up, respectively. The Champion received Php 25,000 and a trophy, while 1st and 2nd runners up received Php 20,000 and Php 15,000 cash prizes each and trophies.

The events of the Festival started last November 30 and lasted until December 20, 2019. Games were held during the weekends in the different relocation sites.

1st Runner Up – Shela May Marteja (St.Francis Village) (Trophy + sash + P1,200)
2nd Runner Up – Ana May Sabur (GMA Kapuso Village) (Trophy + sash + P1,000)
