Romualdez led the induction of I love Tacloban Youth Organization – Tacloban North’s new set of officers, today, August 14, 2021, during the Linggo ng Kabataan 2021 celebration at the San Isidro Suhi Gymnasium in Brgy. 105, Tacloban City.
Meanwhile, Linggo ng Kabataan 2021 centers on the International Youth Day 2021’s theme, Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health.
Mayor Romualdez, along with his son, Hiraya Foundation President Raymund Romualdez, distributed school supplies and hygiene kits to the youths to help boost their education and health. The Local Chief Executive likewise mentioned his plan to have wifi installed soon in the relocation sites to help them in their studies.
Said youth event spearheaded by the City Youth Development Office under the headship of Mr. Carlos Dave Castello, aims to raise awareness and highlight the significant participation of the Tacloban youth sector in restoring the planet and protecting life, while integrating biodiversity in the transformation of food systems.
He then thanked the City Government’s youth programs partner agencies namely, Philippine Airforce Tactical Operation Group 8 (thru its Deputy Commander CPT. Jester Joseph Buncha), PESO, City Population Office, CSWDO, PYAP, CLEP, City Agriculturist’s Office, CENRO, and Hiraya Foundation.
Meantime, CENRO Head Bong Hijada and City Councilors Aimee Grafil and Bryan Granados were also present to grace the event.
