Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) together with Tacloban City Government thru its Tacloban City Public Employment Service Office – TC PESO, facilitated the graduation ceremony for the Life Skills Training (LST) completers under the JobStart Philippines Program.

Designed to strengthen their values and skills, 100 youth finished the 10-day training—where they did not only acquire insights on career guidance and work ethics, among others but likewise provided with PHP 3,000 stipend and 200 pesos load allowance throughout LST.

On behalf of DOLE Regional Director and Mayor Alfred Romualdez, Norman Uyvico, DOLE-NLFO head; and Atty. Anacleto Rei Lacanilao III, Chief of Staff, respectively led the distribution of certificates to the said graduates at the CEO Gym. After the LST, said trainees will undergo technical training and internship both for three months.

Coinciding the graduation rites held Monday afternoon (October 4), was a Mini-Job Fair wherein most of the program partners participated. The two-in-one event is part of the government’s commitment to remain steadfast in supporting the beneficiaries by finding them equally sustainable jobs, especially during this pandemic. For the record, it’s Tacloban City’s third time to implement the JSP program, DOLE confirmed.
