World Surgical Foundation to conduct Medical Mission in Tacloban City
April 12, 2019 No Comments on World Surgical Foundation to conduct Medical Mission in Tacloban CityTACLOBAN CITY (CIO) – The World Surgical Foundation (WSF), a charitable organization committed to providing charitable surgical health care to the world’s poor and underserved in developing nations will be conducting a Medical Mission this coming June 24-25, 2019 at the Tacloban City Hospital.
WSF targets to perform around 150-200 minor surgery operations and around 40-50 major surgery operations of which will prioritize Pediatric patients.
Dr. Joedina Gumagay, Head of the Tacloban City Hospital, said that the SM Foundation will be conducting a pre-screening on June 10-11, 2019 at the Tacloban City Hospital for the surgical mission.
Cases to be screened are as follows: Pediatric Surgeries will include Hernia (Umbilical and Inguinal), Hirschsprung Disease, Anal Malformations, Cysts, Cleft Lip, and Palate; Adult Surgeries will include Hernia, Cholecystectomy, Thyroidectomy, Parotidectomy, Cyst, Breast Mass); and Minor Surgeries will include Mass or Cyst at the back arms and legs.
