Tacloban City Gov’t distributes financial aid to quake-affected areas in Cotabato, Davao Del Sur Provinces
November 10, 2019 No Comments on Tacloban City Gov’t distributes financial aid to quake-affected areas in Cotabato, Davao Del Sur ProvincesTACLOBAN CITY (CIO) — Around 1.5 million pesos worth of financial assistance was handed over by the Tacloban City Government through the leadership of Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez to three quake-affected municipalities in Cotabato Province on Monday.
Acting Assistant City Administrator Marivic Adornado, Business and Licensing Office OIC Ganggay Gaspay and City Treasurer’s Office representative Frenzy Yvonne Hobanil handed checks worth Php 500,000 each to the Municipalities of Tulunan, Makilala, and Kidapawan City representing the aid of the City Government to the communities ravaged by a series of earthquakes last October.
The assistance was received by Vice Mayor Maureen Anne L.Villamor of Tulunan, Mayor Armando Quibod of Makilala and Mayor Joseph Evangelista of Kidapawan City.
On November 19, three more earthquake-hit Municipalities from the Province of Davao del Sur namely, Bansalan, Magsaysay and Matanao are also scheduled to receive financial aid amounting to Php 500,000 each from the City Government.
All in all, the cash assistance of the local government to the affected areas amounted to 3 Million pesos.
According to Adornado, the financial aid came from the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund of the City Government which was approved for release to the affected areas by the City Council.
Tingog Party-list and employees of the Tacloban City Government also sent cash donations to the affected communities. -H. J. Roca/CIO
