According to Division DRRM Coordinator Mr. Crisvil Villamor, who spearheaded the said activity, Tacloban City DepEd is committed to strengthen the Makakalikasan value of personnel in the light of climate change.
As mangroves have been proven to be natural barriers from violent storm surge, and are home to different species of animals, said tree planting activity is one of the agency’s way of teaching and showing the people the importance of protecting the environment.
Meanwhile, seventy-five (75) mangrove seedlings have been planted at a portion of the eco park today.
