The distribution is part of a tie-up livelihood program between the City Government through Mayor Cristina G. Romualdez and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) that benefits the different marginalized sectors in the City.
DOLE 8 Senior Labor and Employment Officer Gemma Dela Cruz, Public Employment Service Office Manager Emilia Cruz and City Livelihood Cluster Head Dr. Eunice Alcantara led the turnover ceremony held at the City Hall Building Lobby. The beneficiaries who underwent validation and screening by the PESO came from different barangays.
Also in attendance were City Councilors Evangeline Esperas and Raissa Villasin.
Mayor Romuldez’s message was read by Miss Tacloban 2018 Title Holder Cassandra Marie Lee. In her message, the Chief Executive encouraged the beneficiaries to use the resources given to them by the government to realize their dream of sustainable and abundant life for their families.
According to the PESO, the distributed livelihood assistance is part of DOLE grant available for qualified and marginalized workers involved in livelihood and entrepreneurial ventures in the City.
The beneficiaries will undergo monitoring and post-implementation activities that include simplified bookkeeping and entrepreneurship and production, and marketing seminars as part of the thrust of Mayor Romualdez to provide livelihood know-how to the vulnerable sectors of the City./H.
