More YPHP beneficiaries get permanent homes
September 30, 2021 No Comments on More YPHP beneficiaries get permanent homesThe wait is over for Fifty (50) Yolanda “Pabahay” beneficiaries who came to the CEO Gym on Thursday, September 30, 2021, for the raffle draw of the housing units at St. Francis Village 2.\
TACLOBAN City Housing & Community Development Office (CHCDO) Head Leonard Tedence Jopson reminded the beneficiaries that these units are “not intended for other purposes except for making it a home for the family,” as he congratulated the new homeowners.
The official likewise asked beneficiaries to be cautious in filling out important data in the pertinent forms to avoid legal document-related problems in the future.
Meantime, NHA Regional Manager Engr. Constancio “Dodong” Anteniero highlighted that said recipients are not only entitled to the physical structures but also the property titles, as he cited the importance of coordinating with the City Government–noting its significant role in making the Yolanda Pabahay Housing Project (YPHP) possible.
“Ibinigay ito ng gobyerno, mahalin naman natin ito. Tirahan at bigyang halaga,” said Engr. Antonio.
With the acceptance of the housing units, City Councilor Aimee Grafil, committee chair on Urban Poor, Housing and Human Resettlement, pointed out the responsibility as new owners, as she noted how Mayor Alfred Romualdez pushed for the City Council for the creation of City Ordinance 2021-14-11 which waves the necessary fees in the processing of the titles for the indigent YPHP recipients.
She further encouraged everyone to make the “structure” a home where they can build new memories with their respective families.
Apart from the raffle ceremony, said beneficiaries are cautioned that upon the turnover of the house key after completing the needed requirements, they are “bound to occupy the unit within the month” to avoid cancellation of the grant.
Meanwhile, Atty. Agnes Pacheco from the City Mayor’s Office, along with Engr. Jong Gempeson and Charmaine Lao, representatives from NHA, as well as Alyzza Miralles of CSWDO graced the said event.
