September 2, 2021 No Comments on MOBILE JAB FOR PORT WORKERSInoculation for workers at Leyte Intergrated Port Services, Inc. (LIPSI) kicked off today, as the local government has brought #COVID19 vaccines to their doorstep through its mobile vaccination program.
An initial 150 services staff were targeted to receive their first dose of Sinovac, with Raymund Romualdez, Hiraya Foundation Inc. president overseeing the jab rollout, on behalf of Mayor Alfred Romualdez, who aims to make the vaccination program more accessible to everyone to gradually achieve population protection.
Meantime, one of the dock workers who got inoculated during the day, Jesus Obina, expressed “it’s a huge help for their protection, as we are likewise at risk of exposure to COVID19 because of our line of work”.
With the provision of the much-needed vaccines to their employees, Captain Nomer Malate, LIPSI, president-general manager, thanked the Philippine Ports Authority and the city government for making it possible, noting that this initiative can alleviate the stress of queueing and hasten the inoculation of more residents at the earliest possible time.
