The job fair, which is part of the job generation initiative of the City Government of Tacloban under Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez through Public Employment Services Office (PESO), is in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Plan International.
Katherine Peliño, PESO Development Management Officer, said that the Job Fair aims to help job applicants reduce cost, time and effort in finding a job that suits their interests.
Peliño emphasized we’re not just targeting to provide opportunities for unemployed Taclobanons, but also those who were likewise displaced during the fire incident in Robinsons Marasbaras.
She also advised the interested job applicants to dress appropriately and bring
copies of their documents such as resume, Transcript of Records (TOR), employment certificates and certificates of training.
“They should look professional because they are also marketing themselves,” she stressed.
Around five to 7 local establishments will be participating in the said activity.
Among those are Concentrix, Saint Michael Manpower and General Services, Ace Hardware, Citi Hardware, and Ace Promotions.
Meanwhile, the local job vacancies available include 100 Technical Support Representatives, 100 Customer Service Representatives, 5 Management Trainee, 2 Store Supervisor, and 2 Sales Assistant, among others.
The PESO will also be conducting a series of Job Fairs on November 29 at Primark and on December 6 also at the Robinsons North Tacloban.
PESO encouraged the fresh graduates and out-of-school youth to take their chance in this activity, as this is a great opportunity for them to find their first jobs. – C. Merin/CIO
