Some daycare children of Area 1 had their fairytale-like moment during the 2019 Yuletide Prince and Princess Coronation Rites held on December 6 at the University of the Philippines (UP) Library.

Hailed as this year’s Yuletide Prince and Princess for Area 1 was Jude Anthony Juabot of Brgy 73 and Sophia Ysabele Cabañesaz from Brgy 69, while preschoolers Vince Michael D. Hernandez, Annicka Rose Balintec, Mark Angelo M. Dingle and Precious Topiea B. Laguilles were declared as 1st and 2nd Runners-Up. On the other hand, Nemuel S. Diocton Jr., Haishalyn S. Egonio, Benedict V. Item, and Leah Jairylle L. Abello got 3rd and 4th Runners-Up, respectively.

Acting City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) Head Fe Chona Bahin led the crowning and donning of the cape as well as giving of the scepter to the Prince and Princess.

On behalf of Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez, Executive Assitant Rainier Dale Ortega also graced the event and read the message of the local Chief Executive.

Early Childhood Care and Development Program (ECCD) Coordinator Marlyn Dugos was also in attendance along with other child development workers.

The event, spearheaded by CSWDO, is an annual fund-raising activity that aims to support and finance the ECCD programs and activities, and help boost the total development of daycare children here in Tacloban.
