November 29, 2019 No Comments on LOOK:The Tacloban City Public Market joins the festive mood of the season with the launching of the 1st Lamrag han Merkado Competition on Friday evening. Highlight of the launching was the ceremonial lighting of the market’s 20 foot Tall Christmas Tree along the corner of Quirino Avenue and Paseo del Carmen attended by the Chairperson of the Market Operations and Slaughterhouse Committee of the City Council Councilor Dalisay Erpe and Councilor Brian Steve Granados together with the Market Operations Team Headed by Acting Market Superintendent Joel Bugho.
Christmas decorations made of indigenous materials will be the main attractions of the different participating sections of the market; and will be judged based on the following criteria: cleanliness, creativity/and concept relevant to the theme, indigenous/recyclable materials used and overall light effects and visual impact. The duration of the Christmas displays will be from November 29, 2019, until January 5, 2020; the lights are aglow from 5:30 pm until 10:30 pm. The announcement of the competition’s winner will be on December 14, 2019.
