A proud senior citizen was among the 20 scholars who finished their 8-day training on Produce Organic Fertilizer at Pitahaya Farm, a TESDA accredited farm school in Brgy. 104, Salvacion, in this City.Lerma Meniano, 65, from North Hill Arbours, proved that age is not a hindrance to learn new skills, as she received her certificate of competency along with the other graduates from the said community on Friday, July 2.She shared, at her age, it is important to acquire skills that could make her productive at the same time could contribute to providing business opportunities, especially in this time of the COVID19 pandemic.The graduation ceremony was led by Jose Castillejos Jr., TESDA certified trainer, and owner of the said farm. He was accompanied by Tacloban North City Hall extension, chief of staff Ruth Ramirez, City Cooperative Officer Ruena Mate, City Information Officer Grace Gozo, and Michael Octaviano, who represented Raymund Romualdez, Tacloban Business Club Inc., and Hiraya Tacloban Foundation president.The continued scholarship training on agriculture showed the local government’s support under Mayor Alfred Romualdez towards the advancement of food and livelihood security in the city.
