LGU Tacloban steps up drive against Dengue; conducts clean-up, fumigation operations in Barangays

Romualdez have stepped up its anti-dengue drive by starting clean-up and fumigation activities in 8 densely-populated barangays this week.
On Wednesday and Thursday as part of the Aksyon Tacloban Kontra Dengue Drive, Barangays 65, 66, 66-A, 67 , 68, 69 and 70 in Paseo and Anibong Districts and 74-Lower Nula-Tula were subjected to mosquito fogging and cleaning operations by personnel of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and the City Health Office.

The CHO has also scheduled fumigation activities in Brgy 71 Naga-Naga 54-A, and 91 Abucay (July 19), and Caibaan (July 22), and barangays 85, 87 and 88 in San Jose (July 23).
Aside from the said operations, the CHO is also set to visit local schools to conduct fogging and destroy dengue mosquito habitation to prevent the spread of the disease.

According to the CHO as of July 18, cases of the mosquito-borne viral infection in the City have reached 407 with five deaths.
Meantime, local health officials have continuously advised residents to never ignore symptoms like sudden high fever, severe headaches, pain behind the eyes, severe joint and muscle pain, fatigue, vomiting, and skin rashes, and seek medical attention immediately. – H.J.
