Kids show talents in Literary, Musical Contests
November 28, 2019 No Comments on Kids show talents in Literary, Musical ContestsTACLOBAN CITY (CIO) — To hone the talents and boost the total development of daycare children here, a Literary Musical Contest was held on Wednesday, November 27 at Tacloban City Youth Hub, as part of the 27th National Children’s Month celebration.
The event was participated by selected children from the 68 Day Care Centers in this City and organized by the local government under Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
In a message, Acting CSWDO Head Fe Chona Bahin encouraged parents to support the welfare and holistic progress of their children.
On the other hand, Executive Assistant Atty. Romeo Magdalaga Jr. also graced the event and read the message of the local Chief Executive to the participants.
Meanwhile, individual and group category activities were prepared for both Literary and Musical categories, which included a Poem competition, Singing and Folk Dance contests as well as a “Draw and Tell” session.
Justine Abella from Area 9-B was declared Champion in the singing competition, while Ruby Jean who represented Area 9-B and Queenie Gabriel Albager from Area 3 respectively placed 2nd and 3rd Runners-Up.
Poem competition winners are Hoshime Raven Ong from Area 4 and Area 9-A representative Shery Anne Villamil who respectively got the 2nd and 3rd spots, while Lance Gilford Abarquez from Area 7 was hailed as the winner.
Meantime, Laarni Monique V. Hermano who represented Area 9-B was announced as Champion for the “Draw and Tell contest”, while Area 3 daycare child Nate Raver Gerado and Santino Dacutan of Area 1 won 1st and 2nd Runners-Up, respectively.
For the Folk Dance Competition, selected daycare children from Area 7 were hailed as Champion, while Area 9’s Cluster A and B grabbed the 2nd and 3rd spots.
The celebration of the National Children’s Month in November 2019 is under the Department of Interior Local Government’s Memorandum Circular No. 2019-160.
