June 9, 2021 No Comments on FLET serves a formal Notice of Removal of a “BONOAN” located at Anibong, Tacloban City.The Fishery Law Enforcement Team (FLET), along with the PNP detailed and Barangay 69 Officials, served a formal Notice of Removal last June 7, 2021, of a “BONOAN” or fish cage located at Barangay 69 Anibong, Tacloban City.
The construction of a “bonoan” violates Section 2A of Barangay Ordinance No. 01-2018 or otherwise known as “Bonoan” Regulation Ordinance of Barangay 69, Tacloban City, which states that: “No person or group of persons shall be allowed to construct, maintain or operate a Bonoan within the territorial jurisdiction of Barangay 69, Anibong, Tacloban City.”
Owners of the fish cages are given 15 days to remove the illegal structures. Should they fail to comply with the demand, the city government will pursue legal action against them.
The existence of bonoan can cause an increase in the production of algae and macrophytes that is a serious environmental concern.
