‘Family Camp’ highlights Family Week Celebration in Tacloban
TACLOBAN CITY (CIO) — At least 275 indigent families attended a Family Day Camp organized by the City Government of Tacloban through the City Social Welfare and Development Office on Thursday, September 25, The event was held at the Balyuan Grounds as part of the Family Week Celebration.
The one-day event featured activities such as raffle draws and fun games for children and adults.
Fe Chona Bahin, Officer-in-Charge of the CSWDO, said that they have prioritized activities that involved the participation of both parents and children to strengthen the family bond.
“Importante talaga iton na it usa nga pamilya ma spare hin time nga magkaka-bonding hira ngan magkakaurusa hira,” said Bahin.
“We always adhere for family solidarity. Gusto namon ito nga nagkakaurusa it pamilya, kay kun nagbuburublag na ngani it mag-aragsawa, it’s the children that suffer,” she added.
She encouraged the parents to find time for their children and never give up to any circumstances that life has to offer.
Meanwhile, Marilou S. Nacilla, Family and Community Welfare Program Focal, discussed the essence of conducting such activity.
This year’s National Family week observance carries the theme, “Tungo sa Maginhawa, Matatag, at Panatag na Pamilyang Pilipino.” – C. Merin/CIO
