DSWD and PCC deliver fresh milk to CSWDO
February 17, 2021 No Comments on DSWD and PCC deliver fresh milk to CSWDOThe Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) delivered fresh milk to the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) yesterday, February 16, 2021, in continuation of the Milk Feeding Program which was launched last February 2, 2021.
Now on its third week, the Milk Feeding Program has been serving 925 Taclobanon children from the different Daycare Centers in the city with 180 ml fresh milk twice a day. Said 60-day feeding program is set to end on the first week of April.
To ensure its freshness for consumption, CSWDO OIC Ms. Chona Bahin instructs her staff to deliver the fresh milk to the doorsteps of the different Daycare Centers from the 62 barangays in the city right after these are delivered to their office every week.
The said activity supports CSWDO programs focusing on the children’s well-being, particularly the Early Childhood Care and Development Program, which they have been strengthening. This is part of Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez’ directives, says Ms. Bahin. She further reiterates her gratefulness to DSWD and PCC for choosing Tacloban as the pilot city for the Fresh Milk Freeding Program.
