DIVISION-BASED 2023 WORLD TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION
Educators from the ten District Learning Centers of the Department of Education Tacloban City Division comprised of 60 elementary and secondary schools gathered at the Tacloban City Convention Center for the World Teachers’ Day celebration with the theme: “Guiding Lights of Growth: Teachers Fueling Minds, Sparking Transformation”.
The highlight of the event was the recognition of the dedicated and outstanding teaching and non-teaching personnel including retirees of DepEd Tacloban which was awarded by Schools Division Superintendent Judella Lumpas.
In an interview, Dr. Nilo Eder, the division’s information officer, underscored that teaching is a noble profession and an instrument for societal transformation.
Meantime, a P1,000 monetary incentive was given by the local government as a form of gratitude to each of the hardworking teachers of DepEd Tacloban.
The city government under the leadership of Mayor Alfred Romualdez has constantly been extending full support to strengthen the alliance with the agency in the selfless pursuit of bringing quality education to the young populace of the city.
WTD is observed every October 5, pursuant to Republic Act No. 10743, to pay tribute to the invaluable contributions of teachers to society.
