City Jail inmates benefit from medical, dental mission of local government
January 9, 2020 No Comments on City Jail inmates benefit from medical, dental mission of local governmentTACLOBAN CITY (CIO) – Over 400 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) benefitted from the free Medical and Dental Mission conducted on Thursday, January 9 at the Tacloban City Jail.
The activity, spearheaded by the local government under Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez through the City Health Office, provided the needed medical assistance to the inmates.
Also availed by the PDLs were free grooming services courtesy of the Comprehensive Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Program (CLEP).
Mayor Romualdez, along with his son Raymund Romualdez gave bed sheets and bath towels to the detainees.
In his messages, the City Mayor mentioned that the conduct of the said outreach mission will continue every month.
Meanwhile, Dr. Gloria Fabrigas, Officer-in-Charge of CHO said that the inmates will be assured this kind of activity continue to give them the needed services.
Apart from the medical and dental mission, a lecture on HIV-AIDS awareness also highlighted the half-day activity.
Tacloban City Police Office (TCPO) Director Police Colonel Michael David and Jail Senior Inspector Jim Buranday were also in attendance.- C. Merin/CIO
