June 9, 2021 No Comments on CHO asks priority groups to register for COVID19 vaccinationWhile the city continues its inoculation of COVID-19 shots to residents in the A1 to A3 categories, the local government here is optimistic to speed up the vaccination rollout as essential and economic workers are asked now to sign up through the online vaccine registration system.
To manage the vaccination process, Taclobanons under the priority population, including those who belong to the A4 category should register at https://safecity.tacloban.gov.ph/vaccine-registration/ for the vaccination program and wait for a text message detailing the vaccination schedule.
Those who do not have internet access, on the other hand, can visit their respective barangay halls and ask for assistance from the officials to help them register online.
More than 4,000 residents have already registered online since the system was launched, however, the local health official, Dr. Gloria Fabrigas, clarified that the LGU has not yet started inoculating those who have signed up to secure their schedule, as “we still have the priority eligible population,” she said.Currently, the city government is conducting vaccination at Savemore Tacloban to healthcare workers, the elderlies, and persons with comorbidities or those with existing health conditions. The vaccines administered, AstraZeneca and Sinovac, were allocated by the Department of Health. Meantime, the city is set to receive another 3,000 doses of vaccines, out of the 36,800 doses that arrived for the region.
Meanwhile, with the 57 new COVID-19 cases recorded in the City, as of June 9, active cases are now at 315. The LGU continues to appeal to the public to keep following the minimum health protocols at all times and in all settings, as a breach of protocols could lead to higher transmission of the virus.
