CHILD-FRIENDLY TACLOBAN
December 29, 2021 No Comments on CHILD-FRIENDLY TACLOBANIn its goal for Tacloban to be a ‘Child- Friendly City,’ the City Council for the Protection of Children (CCPC), along with other government agencies, NGO’s, and youth & child representatives, convened for the 4th quarter meeting.
With DILG- Tacloban who has been enlightening and guiding the council on the Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 2019-01or the Revised Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) and Implementation Guideline, and CSWDO spearheading the Child Protection program in the city, the body aims to intensify its implementation in the barangay level by strengthening the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) in 2022.

In this way, maisasabuhay naton an ira pagiging pag asa ng bayan,” says Ms. Bavelle Ambas, a Child Care Specialist from Misericordia Children Center, Inc. (MCCI), a Non-Government Organization run by the Religious Sisters of Mercy (RSM), which takes care of 58 street children from the different parts of Tacloban.
Said meeting, facilitated by CSWDO Youth Hub Coordinator Daryl Van Jake Deriada, which also tackled other agenda like the conduct of VAW Desk, BCPC training in 2022, the conduct of Year-End and Strategic Planning in 2022 , was held at the City Hall Boardroom, yesterday, December 28, 2021.
