More than 2,000 employment opportunities, both local and overseas, will be offered to jobseekers during the Mayor’s Employment Generation Activity (MEGA) Job Fair, set on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the Tacloban City Convention Center (Astrodome).
Spearheaded by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) with the support of the Department Of Migrant Workers (DMW), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and USAID-Urban Connect, the job fair is part of the city government’s yearly initiative to boost economic and career growth of Tacloban populace.
To date, around 38 local partner employers will be participating and offer 1,112 jobs in healthcare, managerial positions, construction, finance, education, hospitality, and other fields, while 998 overseas posts will be available through six (6) recruitment agencies on the said job fair which will run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
These jobs abroad cover a range of destinations, including Australia, Germany, Thailand, the United States, Cambodia, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia, among others.
Seeking to provide avenues to help people secure stable and rewarding employment, PESO has been providing linkages with employers through their regular conduct of recruitment activities.
