Ninety-seven (97) beneficiaries from various barangays in Tacloban City were provided with sari-sari store essentials as livelihood assistance of the local government through the City Cooperatives Development and Livelihood Assistance Office’s (CCDLAO) Everyday Negosyo Program on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.

The livelihood packages, distributed at the CCDLAO building, included sacks of rice, canned goods, biscuits, soaps, and other necessities. Beneficiaries comprising one group and 96 individuals—many of whom are mothers of nutritionally at-risk children, single parents, families of overseas workers, senior citizens, and stay-at-home mothers—received the said assistance from CCDLAO head Ruena Mate and Liga ng mga Barangay President Raymund Romualdez.

According to Mate, the program is now on its third year and has remarkably benefited residents, especially in the northern barangays of the city. She emphasized that the program aims to empower individuals to begin small businesses that can sustain their families.

“To avail, interested individuals must participate in the regular Barangayan (community outreach program) activities conducted by the city government and enlist in livelihood or skills training programs they want to pursue,” Mate explained.

The official advised beneficiaries to make the most of the assistance given by the local government, as many others are in need of livelihood support.
