TACLOBAN CITY (CIO) – A 691 man delegation composed of Elementary and Secondary Athletes, tournament managers, officiating and delegation officials will represent Tacloban City in the weeklong Eastern Visayas Athletic Association (EVRAA) this April 7 – 12, 2019 in Ormoc City.

The city government under the leadership of Mayor Cristina G. Romualdez has allocated funds for the EVRAA meet for the provision of uniforms, transportation, and food of the athletes.

Tacloban City Division Sports Officer and Athletic Manager Jessica Abril said that they will be participating in 22 events, but she is positive on the athletes’ performances, especially in Taekwondo, Volleyball, and swimming.

Officially named “Tacloban Red Stallions,” the athletic delegation left last April 2, 2019, for Ormoc City, and is currently staying at the Dolores National High School and Dolores Elementary School.

The Regional Sports Event will have its Opening ceremonies this Sunday, April 7 at the Ormoc City Sports Complex (OCSC).

Thirteen School Divisions from Tacloban City, Ormoc City, Baybay City, Maasin City, Southern Leyte, Leyte, Samar, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Biliran, Borongan City, Catbalogan City, and Calbayog City will be competing for excellence in the different sports events of the regional sports competition. – H.J.
