The 3rd Mayor Cristina Romualdez Cup, National Open Sepak Takraw Tournament on its second day at the Robinsons North Mall in Abucay, Tacloban City.

Thirty teams from the Philippine Army, Philippine Navy (Manila & Cebu), Philippine National Police, Manila, Palawan, Cebu, Davao, Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (Varsity Team) and teams from Catarman N. Samar, Maasin S. Leyte, Biliran, Calbayog , Catbalogan, Eastern Samar Balangiga, Alang-Alang, Palompon, and MacArthur Leyte are participating in the tournament which will be held until June 23.

The national tournament is organized by the City Government in partnership with the San Juanico de Tacloban Sepak Takraw Club Incorporated.

Winners of the tournament will get Trophies, Medals, and Cash Prizes ranging from 25,000 Pesos for the First Place,20,000 pesos for the Second Place and 15,000 pesos and Fourth Place.10,000. Plus 4-Quarter Finalists will receive 2,000 pesos each.

National Sports Association (NSA) and Pilipinas Sepak Takraw Association Incorporated Official Referee and Organizer Francisco Albesa Jr. is officiating the tournament. – D. Abarquez
