TACRU celebrates 13th Anniversary
TACLOBAN CITY — The Tacloban City Rescue Unit (TACRU) celebrated its 13th Year Anniversary with an exhibit of its Rescue Equipment at the City Hall Grounds, Kanhuraw Hill from August 28 to 29.
TOMECO Public Information Officer Isabelo Lagutan said activities also include a demonstration activity on High Angle Rescue Operation and Zip Line Exhibition.
Lagutan added the two-day exhibit which also features booths of the Chamber Volunteer and the Tacloban DELTA Volunteer Fire Rescue, Inc. highlights the rescue capabilities of the TACRU in responding to any disaster contingency.
Meanwhile, Lagutan reported that the TACRU will be launching its Emergency Hotline soon to quickly respond to any emergency situation in the City. The Emergency Hotline will be connected to the Emergency Medical Services of the TACRU and the Police Department and will have its control office at the TOMECO.
Earlier this year, the rescue team had its training on Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) Training with the Office of Civil Defense to beef up the manpower capabilities during rescue operations.
