Sangyaw Foundation Launches Search for Sangyaw Queen
TACLOBAN CITY – The Sangyaw Foundation Inc. (SFI) – a socio-cultural organization which supports the cultural activities of City Government of Tacloban under Mayor Cristina G. Romualdez launched on Tuesday, April 18 the Search for Sangyaw Queen 2017.
The fund-raising event in partnership with the City Government will be among the activities slated for the forthcoming Sangyaw Festivities this June which coincides with the annual Fiesta celebration of the lone Highly Urbanized City in the Region
Five ladies will vie for the title, namely Rose Orejola (representing the different Women’s Organization), Marjorie Manuta (PNP), Lourdes Enerlan, Lilian Estorninos (Senior Citizens Organization), Lilian Estorninos (EVSU) and Niceta Galora (DepEd).
The Sangyaw Queen will be crowned on June 26 at Patio Victoria and will help promote advocacy programs for Women in the City.
Its first canvassing will be held on April 19, while subsequent canvassing schedules are on May 19 and June 16, 2017.
Proceeds of the fundraising event will benefit the foundation’s cultural programs and charitable activities. -HENRY JAMES G. ROCA/CIO
