National PNP awards Tacloban as Best LGU HUC Category for 2011
Adding another feather to its cap Tacloban City once again clinched a National Award. Declared this time as the Best Local Government Unit (LGU) in the Philippine National Police (PNP) Service Awards, it bested Quezon City for the distinction given out as part of the PNP’s 111th Anniversary. Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez personally received the award at Camp Crame last August 6, 2012.
According to the Police Community Relations (PCR) of the PNP Regional Office, news of the City winning under the LGU Category was confirmed last August 3 through a memo from its national headquarters.
Last June 22, 2012 the City was nominated by the Tacloban City Police Office to the awards citing its contributions in the local police force’s administrative and operational accomplishments. The nomination was validated and evaluated last July 12 by a team from the National Headquarters of the PNP. Another winner in the Region under the Local Government Agency Category is the Borongan PENRO.
