Mayor Cristina visits, provides assistance to Villa Sofia residents
TACLOBAN CITY – As part of its Caring Giving Reaching (CGR) Out Program, Mayor Cristina G. Romualdez visited Villa Sofia – one of permanent housing sites for Yolanda affected families, on Thursday, April 6. Mayor Romualdez visited the site to check on the condition of relocated families and talk with barangay officials regarding possible local government assistance for the area.
To coincide with the visit, Mayor Romualdez distributed together with representatives of the City Social Welfare Office 197 sets of blanket, mosquito net and flexi mats to residents
She also went around the site to check on the residents accompanied by Barangay 108 Chairman Rachalle Navigante Lacaba who told the Chief Executive requests of residents for a small market (talipapa) to be constructed within the community and the provision of free medical services.
The Mayor committed the construction of a small talipapa within the village and promised a weekly medical mission in Relocation Sites in response to the requests of the residents.
Chairman Lacaba expressed her gratitude for the prompt reply of the Mayor saying, “Nagpapasalamat kami nga diri nangalimtan ni Mayor Cristina an mga residente han barangay labi na ha Villa Sofia…hi mayor aadi permi ha amon nabulig kun ano an mga aktibidad dinhi.” (We are thankful that Mayor Cristina always remember to provide assistance to residents of the Barangay, especially residents of Villa Sofia… she is always ready to provide help.)
