Mayor Cristina distributes assistance to families in Ridgeview
TACLOBAN CITY – As part of her Caring Giving Reaching (CGR) Out Program, Mayor Cristina G. Romualdez visited Ridgeview Park in Cabalawan – one of permanent housing sites for Yolanda affected families, on Wednesday, August 2. Mayor Romualdez visited the site to check on the condition of relocated families and interact with residents.
To coincide with the visit, Mayor Romualdez distributed together with representatives of the City Social Welfare Office led by its Chief Remedios Buna, ‘Baon Packs’ consisting of Mosquito nets, Mats, Rubber slippers, 3 sets of short and shirt to 400 families.
Other City Government-led initiatives in resettlement sites include daily water rationing — Daily delivery of 120 Tons of water to Tacloban North resettlement sites by seven (7) Water Tankers from 2014 to 2017.
The Local Government Unit (LGU) likewise installed 190 street lights in resettlement sites and assisted 5,310 household applications for electrical connection.
Livelihood assistance in the form of livestock dispersal and production, Capital Start-up Assistance, skills training, among others were availed of by 1,891 households since 2014 to 2017. – HENRY JAMES G. ROCA/CIO, Photo by Tim Canes/CMO
