Tacloban City – Tacloban City Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez expresses his gratefulness to all Leyte Progressive High School (LPHS) alumni graduates who ventured their business in Tacloban City.
For according to Mayor Romualdez, Tacloban City won’t be what it is now without the businessmen who ventured their businesses in the City and most of them were graduates of the Leyte Progressive High School (LPHS).
“There is no reason why Tacloban City will succeed having such a wonderful residence of our beloved city around, hard working citizens of Tacloban at that.” Mayor Alfred said.
Mayor Romualdez was one of the guest speaker during the recently concluded LPHS Alumni Jubilarian celebration of which batch 60 was the host.
In his speech Mayor Romualdez thanked batch 60 , the jubilarian host for 2010 LPHS Golden Alumni celebration headed by its President Mr. Charles Uykiem for the tremendous support they extended the city, during times, when the city was then busy attending to the rising no. of dengue cases . Tacloban was said to top in having the most dengue victims in the entire Eastern Visayas region.
LPHS Alumni Batch 60’s tremendous support extended to the City Hospital through the Search & Destroy Operation of Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez’s fight to the proliferating dengue cases in the city, were materials to the decrease of dengue cases in Tacloban City.
Handing down the City Government certificate of appreciation to the LPHS Batch 60 Alumni Pres. Charles Uykiem was no other than the Chief Executive itself Mayor Alfred.
The Leyte Progressive High School (LPHS) observed its golden jubilarian alumni celebration recently with the City Chief Executive as their guest and Ilocos Norte Representative Hon. Imelda Romualdez Marcos as the honorary guest.
