City Government receives wheelchairs and jetmatic pumps from Filipino Chinese Amity Club
TACLOBAN CITY – On behalf of the City Government, Mayor Cristina G. Romualdez received 52 wheelchairs and 40 jetmatic pumps from the Filipino Chinese Amity Club last March 15, 2017 at the Tacloban City Hall.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office and the Filipino Chinese Amity Club members identified senior citizens and children with physical disability as recipients of the wheelchairs and selected barangays in the city to receive the jetmatic pumps.
The Turnover Ceremony was attended by Filipino Chinese Amity Club Manila Chapter officials Past President Anthony Young, Past President Yao Liong Sio, Executive Vice-TaPresident Teh Kok Ang and Executive Secretary Eddie Ong and Tacloban Chapter officials President Johnny Go, directors and officials, and City Social Welfare and Development Officer Ms. Remedios Buna, and barangay officials.
The City Government does its best to provide assistance to its senior citizens and people with disabilities as part of its Social Protection Program. Mayor Romualdez promised the Captains of the recipient barangays of the jetmatic pumps that the City will assist in the installation of the jetmatic pumps. – GARRETH EDUARD C. NOVILLO/CIO
