TACLOBAN CITY – More than 1,000 4Ps and MCCT beneficiaries attended the free Mass Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training organized by the City Government, Philippine Heart Association – Eastern Visayas Chapter, and Philippine College of Physicians – Eastern Visayas Chapter in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development on March 6 at Tacloban Convention Center (Astrodome). The facilitators of the training were Tacloban City Rescue Unit (TACRU) rescuers, Bureau of Fire Protection officials, and Tacloban Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade, Inc. volunteers.

The whole day activity was part of the Nationwide Hands-only CPR Awareness Campaign of PHA whose advocacy is to provide free Basic Life Support Training to grassroots.

The free training is part of the City Government’s initiative thru Mayor Cristina G. Romualdez to equip 4Ps and MCCT beneficiaries with useful knowledge on CPR that will be helpful as most cardiac arrests happen at home and usually the first responders are relatives or bystanders. -GARRETH EDUARD C.
