TACLOBAN CITY – The City Local Government Operations  Office  (CLGOO) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government this City conducted an Exit Conference on Friday March 10 to present the results of a mock survey conducted in the different City Departments and offices on the  Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).

The SGLG is a mechanism which tracks compliance of local government units to the performance criteria set by the DILG on the following areas: financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, business friendliness and competitiveness, environmental management, and peace and order

The mock assessment which covered the period February 27 to March 3 was initiated by the CLGOO in coordination with the City Government under Mayor Cristina G. Romualdez to prepare City Government Offices for the forthcoming SGLG Regional Assessment this March.

During the exit conference, Mayor Romualdez underscored that cooperation among City Departments and offices is key to meet the standards set by SGLG.  She likewise committed the City Government’s full adherence to  the SGLG criteria.

City DILG Director Atty. Darwin Bibar said the indicators have scaled and up recently Tourism was included in the essential areas, hence the urgency of the mock survey.

The City Director expressed optimism that the City Government will get the seal for 2017 and lauded the Commitment of Mayor  to comply with the SGLG standards. -HENRY JAMES G. ROCA/CIO
