TACLOBAN CITY – Forty eight trainees of the Information Communications Technology Sharing of Computer Access Locally and Abroad (ICT-SCALA) Training in this City, had their graduation on Friday, January 26, after a six-month training which started last May 2017.  The training, a priority program of Mayor Cristina G. SCALA is a free information communication technology training of the CSWDO in coordination with the Information and Communication Technology Program of the City Government that caters to Out of School Youths (OSYs), Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), working parents and other needy adults.

Basic computer programs like Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Power Point, among others, are taught the trainees in three shifts: morning, afternoon and night classes from Monday to Friday.  The training lasts for 3 months and is followed by an On-the-Job Training for 3 months.

Trainees are deployed to the different offices of the City Government for office works like computer encoding and programming as part of their OJT and upon graduation, are given Certificates of Completion.

Since last August 2003 when the program first started it has already trained more than 4,000 students in the City –Henry James Roca
